About Dr. Homen

A native West Texan, Dr. Homen was born and raised in South Lubbock. He attended Lubbock Cooper and then graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University with a major in Exercise and Sport Sciences. He chose to stay in Lubbock for his training, attending the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency here at Texas Tech, where he received training in the complete spectrum of musculoskeletal care.

Dr. Homen was then fortunate to be able to be selected for the University of Kentucky Sports Medicine Fellowship in Lexington, Kentucky. There, he was a sideline physician for the Kentucky Wildcat football program, providing direct care to football athletes on and off the field. He also provided care for a breadth of other Division I athletes, including basketball, baseball, gymnastics, track & field, swimming, and more. In addition, had the opportunity to work closely with world renowned surgeons in the field of orthopedic sports medicine.

Dr. Homen is thrilled to join the Center for Orthopedic Surgery here in Lubbock. While his subspecialty is sports medicine, he is thoroughly trained in all areas of orthopedic care. He is accepting new patients and he would love the opportunity to provide musculoskeletal care for the Lubbock community.

  • Dr. Homen is trained in all areas of orthopedic fracture care and is comfortable with fractures throughout the upper and lower extremities. Many fractures can be worked up and treated in a timely manner without the need for an emergency room visit.
