Dr. McPhilamy is a native of Portage MI and joined The center for orthopedic surgery in Lubbock Texas in 2022. Prior to that, his training took him all over the United States. He obtained his undergraduate bachelor's degree from Michigan State University followed by his medical degree at Wayne State University in Detroit MI. He then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery in Indianapolis IN where he gained extensive experience in the care of the traumatized patient, including operative experience with pelvic and acetabular surgery which sparked his interest in pursuing additional training in trauma. He then moved to Reno, NV where he completed a year of subspecialty Fellowship training in orthopedic trauma surgery.
Complementing his background in orthopedic trauma Dr. McPhilamy is an expert in hip, knee and shoulder joint reconstruction and revision surgery, minimally invasive direct anterior hip replacement, and is certified in MAKO robotics allowing him to offer the latest technological advances in precision instrumentation and patient specific component positioning
